    this restaurant looks like a massage room soon as while you entering, make the people wanna sleep. The waiter and waitress does not has any clue to serve the customer, they don't even know about appetizer go first and entire will second. just like bench of zombie when no brain. Our plate never get change, no refresh plate being switch, everyone's plate look nasty. About dishes, my though over-added MSG, about the american people might not taste it out, however as a Chinese, those foods are really awful. I could do better job in my home than they are. No tender, No freshness, lack of experience to process the fresh ingredient. their magic is, to make a fresh food become like the ten days ago. last, when we checked out, we found one dish never present. But he says he did, really get me shock, he lies in front of everyone. then the manage found out, this dish is never go to the table. I think about it, how can they survived? maybe in suburban? people taste poops like a chocolate bar? Please avoid this restaurant, shamed for Chinese dish like they present. the number ordering: 1, Sauteed beef with Cumin 2, a big bowl of the white rice 3, Dan Dan noodle(Are you kidding me? you give me the appetizer after entree?) 4, Pork rib soup with sea weed(hell yeah! after main entree and appetizer, the i drink this? i already full, how could i eat next dish?) 5, Baked whole red snapper in chili (fish is fresh, but bake like a beef jerky!) 6, Braised pork feet(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!this dish never go to the table, it still on the pig!!!!!!!!!!!!) Hey manager, you really should sack all those knowledge-less crew, they will really hurt your business!

    I had a tough time rating this place... The food is great, but the service I had last night was horrendous. I've gotten take out, and must say they have the best general tsos chicken ever... Bc it doesn't loose its crispiness. So I was really excited to go there for dinner... Got meat buns and fried dumplings... Both lacked. Especially the fried dumplings, NO flavor. However, the bok choy, and crispy duck were out of this world. I could eat that bok choy all day long. So I was content with the food... However, the waitstaff was awful. The table next to us, a table of 6, started getting food before we even had been greeted or had our bottle of wine opened. I almost started bussing our own table. I had to chase someone down for our check. Very disappointing :(

    Just a great place to eat. From the authentic food to the wonderful atmosphere, Pin Wei pleases. I'd recommend it to anyone who has an acquired taste for great food!

    Beware of the menu title and its description (LACK OF). We ordered something called "Pork stir fry with Vegetable" and when it came out it was bacon and scallion! Yeah it's pork, but that's FAR from what you would expect just from the title with no description. Obviously there's more to why they deserve a ONE Star. Service was horrible, we didn't even get any menu when we seated. Dishes were not cleared until we were standing up to leave! Nobody came by to check to see if our food was ok. Asked for an extra bowl of rice, the waitress just starred at me and walked away with no acknowledgement that she heard me. Horrible experience for a fancy looking Chinese restaurant!

    Had dinner here last night with a few friends and it was great! My husband and I come here every few months and we love it. The service has always been fine; my water stays full and rather than the constant check in that you get from servers at most restaurants, which I don't care for, a quick wave of the hand to anyone and they'll be right over. I had a few questions last night and our server was very helpful answering them. But, we come for the food. Last night everything was amazing. I've never had anything I didn't care for, but here are some of my favorites: Dan Dan: so obvious, but so good. The sauce is spicy and ALMOST a little too oily, but I think it's right on point. Better than anywhere else around here to say the very least. Ginger and Scallion Pumpkin: this is so delicious! At 11 dollars it's a little pricy ( in my opinion) but really good to share with friends. Sautéed Snow Pea Leaves: really good. Again, a little pricy, but good as a shared side. If you've never had this, it's kinda like spinach or sautéed Swiss chard. Braised Pork: not spicy at all, but this comes in a really tasty sauce and the pork totally melts in your mouth! Be warned, it is fatty! But if you like that (because it's delicious) this is amazing. I wouldn't recommend having it as your only entree, though. It IS really fatty and you probably wouldn't feel great eating a big serving of this. Share it with lucky friends. Meat buns: all the dumplings here are great, but these are my favorite. Slightly thicker dumpling wrapper and really juicy pork (I think?) filling. Best eaten over a spoon to catch the delicious dumpling juice that inevitably leaks out as soon as you bite into it. Hot pot Delight: just tried this for the first time last night. It was spicy and really tasty with beef, lightly fried fish, shrimp and squid. Scallion Pancakes: lighter and crisper than a lot of places. Long story short, go with a bunch of friends, ask questions and order EVERYTHING. And it's byob so bring some beer to wash it all down.

    Very authentic. I was born and raised in Szechuan province China. I should say this restraunt reminded me my childhood. Very bite here is more than just feeding myself nutritions that keep me alive but a really great pleasure. Some people may find certain dishes they make oily but you don't really EAT those oil in your stomach, you just pick your favourite food from the oily broth or ingredients. A little more practice will bring you much joy of enjoying REAL Szechuan food. The service is awesome as well. Love here!

    Being that so many reviews in the area are so misleading I was hesitant to check this place out. I was pleasantly surprised however. The service wasn't a joy but the food made up for it. I also thought it was funny that they had an Americanized section in the menu. Obviously I strayed away from that section.

    Food is awesome and Authentic ... Having lived in China for a little while I have trouble eating Americanized Chinese. This place is legit ... Service leaves a little to be deserved. The lady at the counter was amazing and very courteous but the wait staff was an older gentleman that seem to be having a grumpy day. Otherwise this place would get 5 stars

    Came on a weekday at lunch time and the place seemed to have a steady flow of customers. Opted for the lamb and scallion dish off of the lunch special along with a hot and sour soup. The soup was excellent in terms of tongue tingling numbness. It could have used more ingredients (i.e. Mushrooms, tofu, etc.) instead of a soup that comprised of mainly starch laden broth. The base was definitely well balanced. So, it took them over 45 mins to deliver the main dish. The boss lady had to come over to notice that my food wasn't out yet. I didn't see my primary server again. Once the food was delivered, I had to ask for my check immediately. So, if you are planning for a quick bite, this doesn't really seem like a place that can accommodate a speedy meal. However, if you do have time to enjoy lunch with company, then it's a must go. Now back to the few bites of the lamb that I inhaled in 5 mins. It was perfect. Not too thinly sliced lamb with beautiful texture. Excellent flavor and not greasy. This is not your typical brown sauce drenched, overly tenderized Chinese from the burbs! It was perfect. I'd give them another try.

    I didn't know what to expect as many people compared this restaurant to others. It was very nicely designed, dimly lit and very well occupied at 7 pm on a Saturday night. Mostly by Asian 20 and 30 something. Everyone seemed to be in that age group. The service was attentive. No one actually came by to ask how things were, but our food came, dishes were cleared and the next course brought. If you don't like spicy food, be warned......................make sure your server knows to tell the kitchen that. The wonton soup? You can skip it. Nothing special. The scallion pancakes were very good. The fried dumplings were tasty although the dough was a little thick and chewy. The Dan Dan noodles were spicy..................we asked to have them toned down, so I can't imagine what they would taste like normally. We had the twice cooked pork and it was good, but filled with fat gristle. Shame they couldn't trim it before cooking. The fried lamb-----------didn't have any chili pepper signs on the menu, so I thought it would be okay to order. Sad but true point is that it was on the Sichuen portion of the menu and therefore cooked with whol spicy pepers. Oh well we had enough food to eat. I'd come back again.

    Really good Sichuan food! They actually have a separate part of the menu called 'American Chinese' so you know the rest of the food is Chinese! Try the dan dan noodles. Second only to Han Dynasty. The dry chicken with peppers is delicious as well. All in all, a good lunch spot!

    We have eaten here twice since discovering this gem by chance. Don't be put off by its location in a suburban shopping center with a supermarket next door. This is the real deal when it comes to Chinese food here in the area. Be warned, even the mild food is moderately spicy. Also, this is a b.y.o.b. If you are so inclined.

    I'm vegetarian, so I tried the Mapo tofu. It was prepared Szechuan style as stated on menu. It was silken tofu in chili oil ,and Szechuan peppercorn. I'll stick with Pf Chang's or wild rice's way of preperation.

    So I think I am pretty much done with this place. I ordered a beef with green chili pepper lunch special. I get there and it's basically pepper steak. The lady says something to the effect that what I ordered wasn't on the menu and the man says it's basically the "same thing". Is it? You decide. I guess Gary [owner] behind the counter was fed up with me judging by his expression when I asked for a side of hot oil. You would have thought I was asking him to go out back and crush up some peppers into a thick oily paste and deliver it to me on his knees. Also, make sure you have extra utensils on hand when you pick up an order because you won't get any here. I know the folks that work there don't eat with their hands, so why expect patrons to do so? This happened a few times before too. Lastly, I thought it was me, but scrolling through some of the other reviews I see mention of a funny smell. You are not alone people. There is some rotten smell to their food. It can't be normal and this also hasn't been the first time I noticed it.

    This place is actually wonderful. When I can't get to Han Dynasty, this is the next best thing. The atmosphere is nice and there is a surprising amount of seating! I would recommend getting the same thing I do at Han Dynasty. Wontons in chilli oil, dan dan noodles, salt and pepper shrimp, and dry pepper chicken.

    Authentic Chinese food. It was tough to rate this place.. I went here for lunch with my work to celebrate Chinese New Years. The food was delicious however, poor service. It took forever to get a cup of water refilled and when you're eating Szechuan food it would be nice to have a glass of water close by. I would go back to give it another try.

    Pin Wei consistently delivers quality, taste, and value. I've been here a handful of times for lunch, and also picked up food for my team at work. They offer a great lunch deal consisting of a soup or spring roll choice and entree for under $10. The lamb and scallion is one of my all time favorites, in addition to the hunan shrimp. At some point, I really want to try the szechuan options, but have yet to stop by for dinner. There have been a few times where they've mixed up my order, but everyone makes mistakes from time to time. Worth trying for lunch if you're in the area!

    It's so-so... Pumpkin soup is very watery, the wonton soup was ok but I've had much better. For the main course we had some pork, squid and a vegetable dish. I thought everything tasted ok, but I wasn't really impressed. Also, the pork was very spicy and it didn't say anything about that on the menu. For us the spicyness was not a problem, but perhaps there are people who prefer to be warned in advance. The staff was just ok. He wasn't really able to make recommendations about the menu. However, because the restaurant was empty on the night we were there, we had the waiter all to ourselves lol. I was told it is usually busier. We went there on a snowy day.

    I'm definitely a big fan of this restaurant, and having been to China twice, I can attest to the fact that the food is about as authentic as you will find in this area. No contest when it comes to the authenticity and quality of the food. I live in the area and we like to come here often. It's a nice looking, comfortable restaurant. But last night's (lack of) service compelled me to write this review. Clearly, the waitstaff here has always been VERY Chinese and very young. That said, we have always gotten great service, with no screw-ups given the language barrier. We had no screw-ups last night either - just no service... After about 15 minutes, a young man came to the table, looked at the four of us and said, "ready to order"? No hello, no welcome, my name is... No offer to open the wine, that was it. No personality. We had to flag down someone else and ask if he would open our wine; that didn't happen so we had to flag down another waiter. We ordered and then the food came out in dribs and drabs. I totally get that they want to bring out the food when it's ready, but there was so much time in between each dish that it was laughable and then we four were getting annoyed because not everyone wanted each dish. Any good kitchen should be able to time this just a bit better. We never saw our waiter again and finally when it was time to leave, we had to go to the front and ask the owner for a check. No-one asked if we wanted dessert, a check, no communication. There has to be more to dining out than just good food. The whole experience has to be good. I'm nervous about the attention to customer service as Pin Wei. I'll still go back, but not if we have another experience like this.

    The general tso is some of the best in town. Very nice people that run the place. I have been here a few times . dine in if possible but take out is pretty good. The chicken with dry peppers is really good too.

    Dropping a star. After the second visit to this restaurant, I was less thrilled and decided I prefer Ping Pong, down the road. There are some dishes that are very authentic and we probably can't get anywhere else in the burbs - like the thinly shaved beef tendon my husband likes. But the other dishes (spicy beef in a stew with napa cabbage - I forget the name) and ma po tofu with fish, we're swimming in too much chili oil and over salted. Also, the waitstaff doesn't seem happy, and I think they charge for rice (what?!?!). No smiling faces here:(. Lots of Asian patrons though, so they must be doing something right.

    This place is crazy good. It's authentic and a nice change from ping pong or han dynasty. They aren't afraid to give you the good spice however it's not all based on that so it works for varied groups. Some of my favorites are the hot and sour soup, chicken with dry peppers and the home style fish and shrimp. I look forward to working through the menu. One thing, I would rather give this 4.5 stars cause there is no Sichuan stuff on the lunch special menu. Other than that it's great!

    This is one of the best authentic Chinese restaurant in this area. The food can be inconsistent (1 out of 4 times is not as good), but because of lack of option, I go back at least once or twice a month because the spiciness is addictive. The waiters are mediocre. I do like the BYOB option. Overall, if you like spice food, you should try it. The owners are very nice too.

    This place has really been hit or miss with us. We ate in their restaurant once and had pretty bad service, so we stuck to take out the next few times. I've seen reviews where people said their dan dan noodles were great but I've had them twice now and they have the most odd flavor--definitely not up to par with those at Han Dynasty (at least the one in University City). Their spring rolls and dumplings with chili sauce are good, better than those at other local Chinese food places in the area. Their portions however seem a lot smaller while the cost is more. I may try out a few other dishes from the menu in the future to give them another shot but for the cost I don't feel it's as worth it as other places in the area. If I could give 2.5 stars I think that would be more accurate.

    the dishes are quite normal, nothing special. The attitude of the waitress is so bad, she never asked us how is everything going. What's more, she forget to add two dishes that we ordered at the first time, which kept us waiting a really long time. What a such bad experience! I will not go there any more.

    Its nice to see real ingredients in sauteed broccilli sauce. I admit i had quite a complicated order and they did their best to not only accomodate but brought their delicious food to me in a timely manner. This place is great! I look forward to eating here again.

    Absolutely love Pin Wei! One of the hidden gems of KOP. We come here at least 2X a week and have never had a bad meal. Love the Dan Dan noodles and dumplings in chili oil as well as the sesame balls for dessert.. Absolutely amazing, makes you go out of your comfort zone but in the end you'll end up loving it.

    Delicious! I am new in the neighborhood and I was looking for delivery service. Despite I saw it had just 3 1/2 stars, I took my chances and ordered from this place. I loved it!     My Indian family came here with a list of crazy dietary restrictions. They were very friendly and custom prepared meals for us. The food was exceptional and I could taste the extra care. This is probably the best Chinese in the area.

    This is Authentic Chinese, but they have more Americanized Chinese food for those who don't eat pigs feet. The fried dumplings were better than most I have tried. The meat buns (soup dumplings) were a little lacking in flavor. Overall, a very good meal and decent prices.

    Come on, people. If this place doesn't get five stars for its food, then no place should. How someone could come here and say the food didn't have enough heat blows my mind. Order the right stuff next time aka stuff that is actually meant to be hot, not double cooked pork...try the following for amazing, authentic, and gloriously mouth numbing dishes: Hot and Sour Soup, Dan Dan Noodles, Ma Po Tofu, Dry Pepper Chicken. Don't be deceived by the standard exterior of the place. It's actually quite elegant inside, with westernized decor and soft jazz playing. Fantastic ambience. Best sit-down chinese restaurant I've encountered...wait for it...EVER. Yes, this place is my favorite. I've lived around the world, even in Hong Kong, but this beats anything I've ever had. If only they delivered!

    I stumbled upon Pin Wei probably a year ago - stopping in for lunch on a day that I needed to get out of the office and try something new. It's probably one of the best finds in my book, and now in rotation as one of my "favorite spots" in the area. The food at Pin Wei is absolutely delicious. I've visited this establishment at least once a week since my first visit, often dragging coworkers along with me. We're constantly joking that they must be putting something in the food to make it as addictive as it is! If you plan on going for lunch during the week, you can count on reliable service and assurance that you'll be in and out in an hour. If you plan on going for dinner on the weekend, I'd strongly suggest you make a reservation if at all possible. I happened to stop in a little more than a half hour before closing time on a Saturday night, and experienced quite a wait for my food. But - the food was impeccable as always, which made the wait worth it.

    We had a reservation for 7:30. By the time arrived, it seemed like they had completely forgotten about the reservation. Even after we had finally sat down, no one came to see us, they were only concerned with serving and seating Chinese customers. Manager didn't seem to care at all. Very disappointed and quite offended. The food tasted good though, I wish the service was better.

    not a pleasant experience. ordered snowpea leaves. waiter took the order. dish did not come out. at the end of the meal we ask about it. waiter says they dont have snowpea leaves. they could have told us when we ordered. had to ask for rice three times. They seem to care about chinese speaking guest but not english speaking customers. food was not great either. dishes were on the other tables. tbey took their time cleaning up. ï

    I am on vacation here. Have tried some Chinese restaurant. Pin Wei is the best Chinese restaurant that I've been to! The owner and waitress are so friendly to the customers. Will be leaving in 4 days, but will be there again.

    Hands down absolute worst restaurant I have ever been to! DO NOT GO HERE. I repeat DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!!! I went to this restaurant as a party of 7 this weekend. I coordinated this dinner reservation because it received really great reviews on Yelp. It took over 10 minutes to actually be helped after sitting down. The restaurant had no designated waiter for the tables ( I'm used to this since I was a waitress for several years). However, my issue was that nobody came to our table. We repeatedly had to get up and grab the hostess or someone to take our order, or just help us. Ironically, all of the other tables were always helped i.e we were the only African american table in the restaurant and nobody wanted to help us. We ordered dumplings and a fried rice ( as well as several other things). I'm Muslim and wasn't aware that the dumplings were pork. I thought that they were vegetable. Also we ordered fried rice ( just plain fried rice). The menu has chicken/ beef or shrimp fried rice listed on the menu . They brought out fried rice with chicken, shrimp, and beef in it. After I flagged down the waitress and told her my issues. She said we should have asked questions and specified. Overall, this wasn't her fault and was the manager and refused to return the meals. I understand that I should have asked about whether or not the dumplings were vegetable or pork. So I agree that I need to pay for it. But if you order fried rice why are you placing 3 meats in it? Also, as a previous waitress I know that there should be some type of customer service. Like they were rude and adamant that nothing was coming off the bill and that if I wanted to replace the meal I would be paying full price. This restaurant was terrible and I recommend that nobody goes to it. There are several better Asian fusion restaurants in Pennsylvania where they actually value there customers and also aren't racist.

    I really wanted to love the food here. But, I guess I do not like it that much as Americanized Chinese restaurants. It is true that, if you are trying ethnic foods, you should go to the restaurant lingering with people of same ethnicity. Pin Wei really attracts a lot of Asian diners, because it is close as home food. Service was OK. But the owner of the restaurant stopped by at our table to check how was our food. I ordered Ma Pao Tofu, which was average. And I also ordered vegetable lo mein for take out, which is below average. Probably would not go back again because not so much option for a vegetarian like me. Update: I thought I give a try again to Pin Wei. So I got take out this time. Ordered Mixed mushroom with green bean noodle casserole for dinner. I got the food by around 9 PM and opened the food around 10 PM. By the time, I opened it was smelling funny and different. I didn't even take a bite. I also got Veggie Lo Mein, which was OK. But way too much Ajino Moto a.k.a MSG. So, I thought I would give it a shot and try giving the mushroom dish back, saying I didn't like it by 11 AM the next morning. I politely asked for a return. They said they couldn't give me a return for "obvious" reasons. At least, they could have provided me a voucher or something, so that I could pass it to someone else. I am sorry Pin Wei. You would be losing my business.

    Holy heat, Batman! Pin Wei has a pretty damn tasty Dan Dan noodles dish. If you're reading this or you've interacted with me for more than 15 seconds, you probably know I love Han Dynasty, Philly's growing Szechuan culinary empire. For my friends and fellow Yelpers, Pin Wei makes an excellent Dan Dan dish that is weaker on the minced pork but better on the al dente-ness of the noodles when compared to Han's. I still like Han's better, but only just barely. Is it worth the trek to King of Prussia? Yes, it is. The ginger and scallion pumpkin is good. The cucumber with scallion oil is good. The scallion pancake is OK. Can you tell I ate plenty of scallion here?!

    Pin Wei is in a great location for people who live in the suburbs and also the city. It is located in a quaint shopping center right next to a Genardi's where you may conveniently run over to and get some milk if you think the food is too spicy! If you're coming from the city, it is only a few minutes after you get off the highway. I came to PW with 7 other friends during the weekend of their soft opening. Of all the dishes I tried, so far my favorite is the cucumber with scallion oil and the ma puo tofu. The cucumbers are soo refreshing. I have never had a cold cucumber dish without soy sauce or sesame oil. The scallion oil like pesto is ingenious. The ma puo tofu's flavoring is on point. I like the Dan Dan Noodles better than the Cold Noodle Sichuan Style. The Sweet Potato Pancake with Rose Sauce is a delight for dessert. I have decided to hold my baby shower at PW. They have a great space, excellent for private parties. Next time, I can not wait to try the Sliced Fish and Pickled Vegetable Soup and the Tea Smoked Duck. I am sooo glad that this restaurant has opened.

    Food was good, but the service... really lacking. Our waiter was counting how many dishes we ordered and his tone was suggesting that we didn't order enough. That is totally not true. Each adult ordered a dish and the kids are sharing fried noodles. Even it was the case, implying customers being cheap is just not right, period. And for that older woman (not the owner) to yell at our well-behaved kids, it is just simply NOT ACCEPTABLE! They didn't even make any noises and were just minding their own business. Be aware of lousy services!

    Being a good Catholic I needed a non meat lunch today. In the area so I stopped by. Like others said the decor and cleanliness is top notch. I got a diet coke and the shrimp and garlic lunch. Heaping amount of food for $8. the soup was hot and spicy which was actually hot and spicy. A ton of shrimp and the mushrooms had me thinking I was back at a Dead show. Service was top notch as well.

    The dishes at Pin Wei are delicious and excellently prepared. Go to Han Dynasty for the Dan Dan noodles but come here for the fresh whole fish prepared Sichuan style. Very comparable to a hot pot meal but the freshness of the whole fish elevates the meal. Other treats include the cold chicken in chili oil and the eggplant in garlic sauce. We love Sichuan style food and there are many worthy options in the Philadelphia area. This BYOB is a great choice. Gan-bei!

    Pretty damn tasty, as Brad says. But a weird thing happened with the food. We were seated in an empty dining room then people started to show up then my dining buddy got her food then everyone else (four other tables) got their food and were fully served... THEN my food came. No explanation from the staff. I'm not sure what the delay was, but it was a little awkward. I ordered the Tea Smoked Duck. Maybe duck takes a long time. Who knows! It was friggin delicious though! I couldn't eat it all so I had the rest the next day and made stock from the bones. Overall I wouldn't count it a success because my dining buddy was finished with her food before mine came out. Also note that the Tea Smoked Duck is literally duck meat on a plate, nothing else. Szechuan is usually spicy and full of flavor, just one flavor in the duck dish. Duck.

    What a lovely place! The food was delicious! My friend and I shared and there was more than enough. Part of the menu was soups for health and well-being. I saw a few that my Chinese acupuncturist had recommended when I lived in Langely, B.C. The rest of the items were not the usual type I've found in Chinese restaurants. I want to go back!

    It's great to find a Szechuan place where spicy means spicy. Normally I have to ask for extra (EXTRA...) spicy before I'm satisfied. But not here. I'll definitely be back.

    I've been there several times, they only failed on one dish, which rarely happens on most Chinese restaurants in philly, NY area. Nice dinning room, super yummy food(from a Chinese's perspective), no American Chinese food but authentic Chinese food(they even have Mao Xue Wang, and their blood tofu is so much better than Ollie's Sichuan Restaurant in NYC, but if you are a great Sichuan food fan, this may not work for you, their spicy dishes are light, I guess it's because the owner is from Taiwan). One thing I would complain is they always serve cold plates last, and their chicken in chili oil doesn't match the standard they should have.

    Absolutely love this place. I'm surprised about some of the other reviews. Authentic food, not syrupy and salty like typical American Chinese food places, but real, fresh ingredient. I've never felt rushed, but very relaxed, the staff has always made recommendations about what to eat and what the food tastes like. And spicy actually means spicy. Definitely a gem in the KOP area.

    Talk about authentic - they have frog on the menu! Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to try out the more exotic seeming dishes but whatever we ate was Good. The service leaves a little more to be desired though. They lady taking our orders skipped our table for the first 10 minutes and finally when she came, she seemed quite exhausted and snappy. I think this happened since my companion and were dressed a bit too casually and were new faces. Things changed when another friend, who is a regular, joined us. Then the lady was all smiles and cracking jokes. Later I found out first-timers get some sort of distant treatment. Lucky for them, all that is made up with the apparent authenticity and the deliciousness of the food they serve. But the menu is slightly confusing, so you would want to ask about the ingredients or the cooking process before ordering something.

    Go with a group, order many different dishes, and enjoy. One of the most interesting, tastiest Chinese restaurants around. Love the scallion pancakes ,clouds ear mushroom appetizer, the cumin fish, the mapo tofu, the dry saute green beans and I could go on and on.

    Pin Wei is better or on par with all the places in Chinatown (E Mei being the best there). Please do not compare this place with Han Dynasty, which was good when they first opened in Royersford but as they opened other locations they started sucking. In any case, get the dry pepper chicken, the cumin beef, dan dan noodles, the pumpkin, the snow pea leaves, the mushroom drypot, the eggplant with garlic sauce...any of it is consistently YUMMY AND ADDICTIVE!!

    I gave 4 stars just for the food and ambiance which was definitely good and traditional chinese. I went with a bunch of chinese colleagues and they agreed it was authentic. But as a business, they have to work on their restaurant etiquette. As some of the reviewers pointed out: 1. Person who takes order does not speak English very well 2. Menus don't have any indication of ingredients. Stir-Fried String beans listed under "Vegetables" section is suppose to contain meat. My chinese friends had to explain the waitress in chinese that I did not want meat in it. 3. They bring one plate at a time, instead of bringing the entire order. So either the food has to get cold outside or some have to start early. Thankfully we did not order appetizers or else everything would come together. Again the food was good, and finally a decent place in the area.

    It seems to be a newly opened restaurant. Dining area is nice and clean; something its owner should do whatever it takes to keep it this way. Dishes taste good but a bit shy from great. Portion wise are considered a bit lesser than typical Chinese restaurants. Nice presentation for dishes. Service is good and friendly.

    Even though there were only a few vegetarian options, especially among the appetizers, the meal I had here last night with a couple colleagues was excellent. This place gets three stars instead of four because our service was pretty strange. Our male waiter hovered, asking us a million times if we were ready to order without giving us time to look at the menu, and seemed unbelievably annoyed when I asked what was in some of the menu items-- "Dan Dan Noodles" and "Dumplings in Chili Oil" do not indicate the dish's contents. I just wanted to know if they had meat in them: totally not an unreasonable question. After we got our food, he disappeared completely and we had to ask for take-out boxes and our check. Even with the bad service, I'm absolutely coming back to Pin Wei. I can't wait to try all of the other authentic szechuan dishes I haven't seen on other restaurants' menus.

    Birthday Celebration Gone Wrong:( My friends surprised me this past Saturday for my birthday by bringing me here. One of my friends had found this place by accident awhile ago and couldn't wait to share his wonderful food experience here for my birthday. He knew how much we love Han Dynasty but we also LOVE finding great new places to eat, particularly, BYOB. I guess you're wondering WHY I only gave this place 1-star. I will explain by starting off with food, then service. FOOD: We started off by ordering Dan Dan Noodles, Dumplings with Chili Oil, and Scallion Pancakes (we always get this at Han Dynasty so we looked forward to comparing the two). We enjoyed every bit of it!!! In comparison to Han Dynasty, the dumplings were not as meaty and the scallion pancakes were slightly greasier but it was close to being as good as Han Dynasty (in my opinion) 4-STARS. I decided to order shrimp fried rice but didn't know what to order next. I say that a lot of pork dishes were on the menu so I figured "they must do pork pretty well". I requested to order to Spicy Pork Stew under Hot Pot Style and Yeng Kho-co-owner, said that the dish was like "beef tripe" but pork pieces. I thanked her for letting me know and just ordered the shrimp fried rice. We still wanted to order something else so I pulled out my Yelp app to seek suggestions from the Yelp community. I briefly saw a post about a Scallop dish. Knowing how much my friend loves Scallops, I decided to order the Scallops in Garlic Sauce/Salt and Pepper/Black Pepper. While were waiting for the Scallop dish, the Shrimp Fried Rice came to the table. We devoured it!!! It was the BEST Shrimp Fried Rice I've EVER had. 5-STARS. We couldn't wait for the Scallop Dish to come out. When it did. The 1st thing I noticed was that the dish had mushrooms. I felt so bad because the menu didn't say that mushrooms were in the dish. I apologized to my friend who replied "it's okay, I'll just eat around it". Knowing how much of a mushroom phobia she had, I was surprised to hear this. I took 1/3 piece of Scallop to check the taste. The closer it got to my nose, the more I smelled something unpleasant. I still took a bite just to see if I would like it.( i was trying to be open) It was REPULSIVE!!! The scallop didn't taste anything like a scallop. I told my friends "I can't eat this! They were shocked because I am "the daring one" in the group. My friends shared a small piece of the same scallop. I could tell they didn't like it either but I think that we all feared "sending the food back". We had 7-minute conversation about "what to say so that we didn't insult anyone" but we agreed that the food had to go back. 0-STARS SERVICE: Before I continue with our food experience, I spent some time yesterday reading Yelp reviews. I am so glad that I did because I read some things that were consistent with my experience. It seems that several Yelpers mentioned that the menu doesn't list the ingredients. I TOTALLY agree!!! Several Yelpers mentioned that the service was poor. The waiter would just ask "what do you want to order?" .....The owners talked too much..... for some reason, that didn't bother us at all!! We also heard that the owners tried to argue over dishes instead of taking feedback from the customer. That's really interesting because this "traumatic event" led me to thoroughly review the website. Quoted from the site under "Meet the Owners": "Gary and Yeng have hired only the best chefs, and invite you to try their food and provide feedback. After all, your satisfaction is their biggest reward.We want you to feel welcome at Pin Wei. Let us know how we can do even better!"~Gary Kuo" Back To Our Experience....... We told the waiter that we couldn't eat the meal. We stated that we "were not aware of the fact that the meal had mushrooms". We deeply apologized and told them that "we LOVED everything thus far and we feel bad to return the meal. We ordered more Shrimp Fried, Dumplings in Chili Oil and Scallion Pancakes. The waiter took the scallop meal and placed the order of the requested items. We sipped more wine (feeling horrible), we heard someone yell 30-seconds later, Gary, the owner came to the table, threw the scallop plate back on the table and asked what "was wrong with the dish". We explained and deeply apologized. Gary proceeded to blame us for "eating more than half of the dish" and demanded that "we pay". He continued to taunt and argue with us telling us that we had "to pay". The three of us collectively ate one scallop... clearly he was lying to make us pay. His wife, Yeng, came out with the plate of Shrimp. Gary didn't realize that we ordered more food as he was giving us the check to "get out". He was upset saying "whose gonna pay for the SFR. "Dude, you're kicking us out, we are paying for the scallops dish not the food we last ordered". Needless to say... LOVELY BIRTHDAY celebration for me:( You lost lifetime customers over a 20-dollar-meal.. SMH. 1-STAR

    I went back to Pin Wei while visiting Philadelphia and I continue to think it is a great restaurant. They've had time to settle in and refine their best dishes. I recommend Chicken with Dry Pepper, Eggplant in Garlic Sauce Casserole, and Sautéed Snow Pea Leaves. The last dish is a good choice to balance some of the heavier dishes on the menu. The price is also very affordable and it is just down the road from KOP mall.

    I absolutely loved this place. For some reason, I found myself telling people over and over that this was remarkable food - even though I don't always love this type of food! We asked our waitress/hostess for recommendations, and she put us in the right direction since the menus don't have a lot of information on them ("beef with spicy sauce"?). I went there with a friend - neither of us from KOP - so we gambled on this place. I was amazed that I had found such a great place, and I can't wait to go back - even though i'm from 2+ hrs away!

    A new good SiChuan restaurant nearby? I did not wait, but practically ran there. Unfortunately it was a bust. Service was poor - waitress overstated the maindish we ordered and the elderly couple who own the business kept on bothering us. They must have equated talkativeness to good service. Worse yet, every time they passed the table they asked, 'how is everything?' Finally I said, 'Do you want to know the truth or do you just want me to say everything is fine?' I told the husband that the cold noodle was bad. It tasted mushy and raw at the same time. He argued that they needed to use that kind of thin noodles to make it 'authentic' and that was how the noodle tasted when cooked. He did not look happy after I complained about the noodle texture. Humm, not a person who welcome feedback. I did not have the heart to tell him the seasoning was all wrong also. The noodle dish was SWEET. I wanted to ask 'Where is the ma? Where is the la?' I told the wife that the rice was hard. She said they bought the good brands of rice (2 kinds, they mixed them). And yes, their rice did taste hard to her. That's when I realized they were in trouble and I would never go back there. They obviously didn't care about how the dishes taste to thier customers, they clearly didn't know how to cook. The person or persons they hired to do the cooking did not worry about the taste of things either. It's a typical Chinese restaurant setup: just cook them and feed them to people, the customers don't know what are good and what are bad. They may have a point, judging by the other reviews. Then the main dish of Boiling Fish came. It was supposed to be a rung above Boiled Fish, an upgrade if you will, as proposed by the waitress. I could see that they added some ingredients other than Napa cabbage. It looked like a dish of chopsuey with fish in it. It tasted...oh my, I found the 'la', no kidding...very spicy chopsuey. The other 2 dishes we ordered were passable. Not pretty, though. Someone needs to go to a cooking school to learn how to use the knife. Taste-wise, passable. Hence the 2 stars. I practically ran out of the restaurant. Got in the car and realized I never found a trace of 'ma' in there.

    Like so many other hipsters, I had a little stint in Shanghai...and there, I developed a bizarre affinity for pumpkin (kabocha squash really) so much so, that my skin turned orange. Pin Wei serves pumpkin and scallions in a dish reminiscent of Grandma's cooking. It's steamed, peeled and chopped, and the pieces of this tender slightly sweet vegetable-meets-starch simmer in its self-produced broth. Any restaurant that will prepare pumpkin so expertly traditional receives an automatic five stars. (As a side note, for service, I asked for a Diet Coke, after which I utilized the facilities. Coming back to the table, there was no soda awaiting my arrival, much to my chagrin. So, I asked another server for a Diet Coke. She brought over a can of caffeine free Diet Coke, and I inquired as to whether they had any with caffeine. She asked if Diet Pepsi was fine, and I accepted. Just as I popped the soda tab, the owner walked in the restaurant carrying two cases of Diet Coke...now that's five star worthy service. Serious.)

    I came to the soft opening of Pin Wei last week, and I have to day it was a real treat. I've been to other Szechuan restaurants before, especially to places like Han Dynasty in Center City, but PW just stands out in so many ways. My parents and I ordered the cucumber app, the dumplings app, the pork hot pot, the scallops, and the ma po tofu. First, we were all surprised by how fresh the ingredients were. It could be that the freshness was due to the new opening, but typically "fresh" is not something I directly characterize with Szechuan food. From the cucumber, which was just crispy goodness, to the scallops that were walloping in size and clean to the taste...I was quite pleased. Second, the decor of this place is very...tasteful. No pun intended. This is the kind of place that I wouldn't mind taking my clients to. There is some serious artwork on the walls that surprised me. But moreover the place was clean and well designed, yet accessible for the casual meal. True, that doesn't define how good the food is. I'm actually a fan of the "best food is in the ghetto" philosophy, but this place doesn't conform to that adage. OK, I know it's not an adage, but...yeah. Third, this place is authentic! I eat a lot of Chinese food. I was in Szechuan province last summer (even attended cooking class there), and I'm happy to say that nothing I ordered was a disappointment on the cultural side. The pork hot pot I had actually had real pork giblets. For my taste, this was a nice surprise. Score! If I had any complaints, they should probably be directed to myself. I probably ordered a bit too much spicy food, but that was entirely my doing -- I was on a mission to see how "Szechuan" they could get. The waitress offered to give me spicier versions of everything and I actually agreed. Oh well, at least it was good! Overall, I'd definitely come back to Pin Wei. I had an excellent meal. I wouldn't be surprised if this place is packed a few months from now. True, it's in a strip mall in K of P, but that means there's ample parking.

    Everyone keeps asking me what's my favorite Chinese restaurant...this one. Here's what I order on a normal day: Hot and sour soup. It has a slightly farmy smell, but the taste! Oh my! I have noticed that recently this soup is less chock full of goodies like mushrooms, but it still holds its own in my book. Dan Dan noodles. I like their version soooo much more than any other Sichuan place. They use a toothier square noodle. Blows other Dan Dan noodles out of the water. Beef with chili peppers. Not the lunch special! On the main menu. It has a nice burn to it that is just right. Lets the flavors dance on your tongue but doesn't require tons of water to cool your mouth. Snow pea leaves. One of the most delicious things I have ever had. Think of spinach but sweeter. Dry string beans. Whatever they do to make them "dry" is amazing. I've never had a problem with he service and we can get in, out, and done in 45 minutes for lunch.

    Foods from this place are microwaved (not to mention overpriced). We ordered beef with pepper. Those of you who know this dish, would know that this dish should have a strong nice smell. Our dish along with another dish came out in literally 5mins - no smell whatsoever. The dishes got cold in 2 mins. We didn't hear any kitchen cooking noises even though the restaurant was quiet, empty, and we were sitting by the kitchen. All evidence pointing to microwaved food.

    A fantastic authentic Szechuan restaurant where you don't expect it! I would have given this 4 stars but what pushed me over the edge was 1) highly reasonable prices for authentic Chinese cuisine; 2) classy decor that gives a sense of being in a real Chinese restaurant and 3) the location - perhaps not a 5-star if you were in Chengdu, China but King of Prussia, PA? Come on!!! We had the green been noodles (I think that was it? It's on the appetizer), the tea smoked duck (it's on the cover of the menu), the spicy fresh fish, snow pea leaves for the mains and the sweet potato pancake for dessert. The dishes were all very good but in general, the more Szechuanese (read: spicy) your cuisine, the more you are likely to be delighted by it. Most Szechuanese restaurants in the US just make it really spicy and then you can't taste a thing after your 2nd dish - PW makes their food spicy enough to give you that kick but not so much that you can't taste the rest of the cooking. Now that's the true mark of great Szechuan cooking! My favorites were the spicy fresh fish and the sweet potato pancakes. The fish dish is very similar to "shui zhu yu" (literal translation from Mandarin: water boiled fish), where the fish is served in a pot after being cooked in spices. It was DELICIOUS - I basically looked like a barbarian in the end 'coz I kept scooping up for more fish despite the pile of fish bones on my plate (you can order it in sliced fish or a whole fish - we got the latter). The sweet potato "pancakes" are also very yummy - it's basically a sweet potato casserole with a crispy crust on the outside. But seriously, if you like Szechuanese food, you MUST ORDER THE FISH!!!

    I came to check out this place with a friend during a week day. It's only opened very recently so there was no sign outside. We got there around 6:45 pm and there were plenty of seats. Clearly this place is aiming for an above average Chinese restaurant that attracts people who want authentic Chinese food. The menu is pretty simple and manageable comparing to other Chinese places around the area. We started with the cucumber appetizer. It's refreshing and the scallion sauce is interesting. For entree, we shared cumin beef and double cooked pork. Cumin beef was average. I am not a big fan of the seasoning they use and overall it tasted a little bit too salty for me. On the other hand, I liked the double cooked pork which has more lean meat than fat (a big plus!) the flavor is pretty good. I only wish there could be more vegetable in the dish, like wild mushroom. I would definitely go back and try other dishes.

    We went to Pin Wei for dinner many more times with friends & students and every time we had a delicious meal. We tried different dishes each occasion like house special prawns, sauté potato strips, dry sauté green beans, pickled vegetable appetizer, Yanzhou fried rice, etc. The spicy dishes are very tasty and even my favorite Yangzhou fried rice when I was a little girl is really yummy. I have had my share of restaurants from all parts of the world or region in my life time and I found eating at this restaurant a genuine pleasant experience with good food, friendly and efficient service, and soothing ambience. I also like the owners to drop by and ask if everything is fine. They take feedbacks seriously.

    A typical cycle of a Chinese restaurant. Start out with great good. Tries to appeal to the masses. Upgrade aesthetics but forget about the food. Jack up prices and open more stores. Rinse and repeat. Case and point, see Han Dynasty. Restaurant Setting: Being a relatively new restaurant, the setting is decent. The tables and chairs are clean. It also has plenty of room to spare. But let's honest, no one is going to a Chinese restaurant for the ambience. Service: The service is what you would expect from a cell phone in the middle of Sahara, none. The owners are there to greet and seat you. Constantly throwing out the courtesy "how's everything". The wait staff lacks any kind of social skills. I think I had more human interaction with an ATM. "Hey, you ready to order?" is not the best opening when you are relying on tips as income. Sure, perhaps they are understaffed at times, but why should the customer suffer because the owners are scrooges. Food: The flavors are good. However, I don't really taste the spiceness (chili) or numbness (peppercorn) that is usually associated with authentic Sichuan food. DanDan noodle was ok. You can probably buy a premade mix and end up with the same taste. The conch slices are pretty good, it is probably one of the only dishes that has some numbness to it. Live fish with spicy sauce tastes great. But I have my doubts on the freshness of the fish as I don't see any fish tanks around the restaurant. The kidney dish is very tasty with the bamboo shoots. It doesn't really have that "intestine" taste that usually signifies lack of cleaning. Overall: What do top restaurants in the city have in common? They were all opened by chefs that put the quality of food in front of everything else. I am not saying the other pluffs don't matter. Pin Wei seems like it was opened by business people who hire cooks (not chefs) for their business. A little bit of authenticity is gone, but if they can maintain the quality of the food as is, I will go back (probably for the lack of other options).

    Been here 3 times so far for dinner. Food is authentic. For an appetizer, the dan dan noodles were a fairly large portion and could have served as a meal by itself. And did I say it was delicious? Some reviewers have compared this place to Han Dynasty. It is similar but I like this place more. So far the best Szechuan I've tasted here in the Western suburbs.

    I was looking for a place get some dinner didn't particular want Chinese but I came across Pin Wei it had an interesting enough menu that made me change my mind. I liked that they had the "Chinese" menu while in the back page "Americanized Chinese" menu. There couldn't be a more appropriate way to describe the food. I ordered "liang fen", conch in chilli oil, herbal ginseng chicken soup and the szechuan spicy chicken. The liang fen had a great consistency unlike most that are too soft it had just the al dente quality. I especially liked the sauce it was a nice blend of spices very balanced in flavors. The conch was really good too, it was fresh and well seasoned. As for the herbal soup I didnt know quite what to expect but it was made the authentic way with the black chicken though the herbs were on the lighter side and it tasted more like an ordinary chicken soup. The spicy chicken was good as usual covered in a pile of dried fried chilli pepper the chicken cubes were fried to a nice crisp it was enjoyable! The restaurant looked clean and nice with a contemporary interior what a great find in the King of Prussia area!

    They were open yesterday in the midst of the maelstrom, so dad and I stopped in to grab a few dishes. We weren't that hungry but just wanted to get out of the house due to cabin fever so it was the lunch specials for us. I had the chicken with cashews, which came with a very generous serving of chicken and cashews; the sauce was flavorful yet not oily at all. They also used chicken chunks rather than slices, which was a nice plus. Dad liked his doubled-cooked shredded pork with five spice tofu, but did comment that E Mei's version is more flavorful; I tasted a bite and found the actual pork to be a bit tough and the tofu a bit bland, although it was certainly better than anything that we would have gotten from any other Chinese place in KoP. We also got an order of the spicy shredded beef with peppers. This was good, but there were only a few shreds of peppers. I'm not complaining, though, since they compensated for the lack of peppers with a plethora of meat. It came to about $30, for all three, which isn't bad. the lunch specials are around $8 each, and come with soup. I highly advise getting the wonton soup. The portions are generous, too, and a lunch special can easily last 2 meals since they give you a pint of rice. Pretty solid.

    Top notch lunch on Christmas Day. Fantastic shrimp in garlic sauce. Don't let the location fool you--this is a great Szechuan restaurant. Waiter was super and did not rush us out the door. He seemed happy to have us sit there for two hours. I will definitely go back to Pin Wei. For the food and the vibe.

    My experience with szechuan food is confined entirely to han dynasty, which apparently sets the bar very high. That said, Pin Wei was great. Solid dan dan with ample pork, and very good chicken with dry pepper. Neither were as spicy as I expected (and was warned by the server), but I imagine they're light on the heat with new customers. The pork dumplings fell a little flat, but they were competing with dan dan noodles. I'm looking forward to working my way through the rest of the menu at my new workday lunch spot.

    A Found Pin Wei by chance tonight, Wednesday, July 30th, and went in just 5 minutes to there closing time. We asked if they were still serving and the host graciously bade us come in and eat! We were happy for that. The waiter stood quietly while we decided on the hot and sour soup, cumin beef, and shredded duck with ginger. The soup was tasty, sour with some heat and was not gelatinous like many a cheap Chinese restaurant. The duck was okay, but could have had more ginger and savoriness. But the cumin beef was fantastic, savory, spicy enough, strong cumin and other spices, a lot of meat and appropriate vegetables. I don't think the waiter spoke English, he came right over when I nodded to him, but ran off to place our order as I was asking for hot tea which I never got, but didn't really need. I loved the unusual menu and the two hosts seemed very polite. I would like to return someday to try more.

    yum! Anyone who like Han Dynasty will like the food here too. Bigger portion than Han Dynasty. won't be able to find some of the dishes here in other restaurants. Will definitely come back!

    Yum. Ordered takeout and ran next door to CVS for less than 10 minutes, and the food was waiting for me when I returned. Trying to fight off a cold, so I went on a spicy comfort food-a-thon. Tasty chili oil dumplings, pork fried rice, pumpkin/chive dish, and ginseng chicken soup. Everything was awesome. If you see something black in your soup, don't be alarmed: it's the chicken. There's a first time for everything.

    INCREDIBLE....After eating Americanized asian food for my entire life, this was a true pleasure. I thought the staff was delightful... they sometimes struggled with English, but I wasn't there to hear Shakespeare recited. I thought the restaurant was well appointed and look forward to returning soon.

    Pleasant enough place, and friendly servers. The food was just OK we had chicken with hot peppers and snow pea leaves. The chicken was dry, and by Sichuan standards, not spicy enough. Considering the prices, I expected to have cloth napkins, and perhaps a mint after dinner, but instead, had to make do with paper (and gum in my car!).

    I've been to a few Szechuan restaurants before and I usually don't leave telling myself that I must return again, but I will definitely be back to eat at Pin Wei again!! The atmosphere is classy and sophisticated, but the prices are extremely reasonable. It's definitely worth it! And the food? Every dish was delicious and unique. Unlike other Szechuan places where after trying a few spicy dishes everything starts to taste the same because my taste buds can no longer distinguish the difference, each of the dishes we ordered packed just the right amount of flavor and spice. Definitely looking forward to returning soon to try other items on their menu!

    This is authentic Szechuan/Taiwanese food. I would say it rivals Hans Dynasty. In fact, I like Pin Wei more. If you are looking for Americanized Chinese good, perhaps go Margaret Kuo or Yang Ming, but if you are looking for authentic Szechuan, Pin Wei is the place. I went there for lunch today and everything we ordered was good, I will definitely go back.

    This place is really good. More authentic Chinese dishes makes it a win for me. I had the chicken soup, wow; great flavor and the chicken was "not Purdue". I also had veggie fish and shrimp dish; also very flavorful. Many native Chinese speakers in dining room which was good sign for me. No Amex, which is a bummer.

    Super authentic Szechuan food in a strip mall in King of Prussia area. Do not come here for the Americanized stuff (General Tso - yuck). Come here for the real deal --- Dan Dan noodles, tea smoked duck, double cooked pork, brisket in dry pot. Must check this out if you like real Chinese food.

    I love this place. I have been 50+ times. Best noodles around, no matter which. Great scallion pancakes, dumplings in chili oil, ma po tofu, beef in hot oil. Never had anything l didn't like. And they know how to do spicy. Large portions. Service can be spotty, but once they got to know me things improved. Food is worth any service issues 99% of the time. Clientele is majority Asian, and I always get great new ideas for things to try from other customers. I continue to go frequently because it is just so good.

    Just had their dan dan noodles, wanton in chili oil, cucumber in scallion oil, and hotpot delight. Should have spent my $50.00 at Han Dynasty. The food was extremely salty, almost to the point of not being able to eat, the dan dan noodles were bland, and the hot pot was not inventive or varying in taste despite being a mixture of seafood, beef and veggies. Don't waste your money. Cheap imitation of Han Dynasty. Will not be back.

    I have been searching high and low for some delicious general tso chicken since my ex-favorite restaurant in China town has disappointed me more than once. I came across Pin Wei while in the KOP area. It was 4 out of 5 stars ON Yelp so I thought it couldn't be bad. The restaurant to my surprise was very clean and well put together. There was no wait and I was seated immediately. I ordered the general tso chicken which was $13.95. The portion size did reflect the price, no skimpy portions here! They used real white meat which I was hoping for. The general tso chicken was delicious!! It was crispy with just the perfect amount of sweetness and the right amount of spiciness though I would have liked just a little more of a kick. I was in heaven!! I ate more than I should have but I just couldn't help myself. It's that good!!! As for service don't expect much. Once your order is taken and you have received your food the waiter will not come back to the table to check on your food or if you need anything. You will have to wave him over if you need anything. This is not a big deal to me because I wasn't expecting good service but the food was awesome and I will be returning. *I noticed someone complained about their bill.. Not sure why because the menu has all the prices listed and what you order is what you pay for. I had not issue with my bill and I was charged for what the table had ordered. If you are pondering about dinning at Pin Wei just GO. The prices are a tad bit high for Chinese but they serve nice size portions that can even be shared. The quality of the food is excellent which is really important to me!! I WISH PIN WEI WAS CLOSER TO ME!!!!

    It's not the best Chinese food but where else are you going to go for Chinese food in King of Prussia? Clearly Pin Wei knows the answer is no where else (because there isn't anywhere else) and his menu prices reflect that. The average is about $40/person and service is slow/poor. Don't expect to have your water refilled or the check to be picked up without you reminding the staff. The dishes are hit or miss, however, they are plated beautifully. Here are the dishes that we ordered and whether or not you should skip them! Beef and Tripe with chili oil - Large thinly slices of beef and tripe that's spicy. It's a tasty and authentic dish, if you don't like tripe then they can do one without it. Water spinach sauteed with garlic - It's a standard dish, except here you will pay $17 for it. If the price doesn't detour you then order it! pea leave sauteed with garlic - Skip this, texture is similar to grass and this dish is $19. Skip this Tea smoked duck - Skip this. One word: Bland. Chicken with dry peppers - Skip this, not much chicken and what chicken is present are nib-lets (is that a word?) Hot and Spicy Beef - A large bowl of spicy beef served over bean sprouts in hot oil. This dish is big enough to serve 4 people. It's got the perfect amount of spice and numbness. Meat buns - Juicy meat packed into steamed buns. Try it! Mapo Spicy fish cubes- It doesn't sound appetizing but it is. It's Tofu cubes served with fish in a spicy sauce. The food here is average, however, the high prices really bother me and that's why I won't return.

    Authentic Sichuan with a casual atmosphere. If I had more cash to spend I would try their specialty dishes, though they do have tasty less expensive options. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside has nice decor and paintings. The staff was nice and the food came out very quickly. I tried their lunch special with a friend. Each of ours was $8.45 with tax or something close to that. It came with a soup or spring roll. My friend got egg drop and I got hot and sour. For our entrees, my friend got General Taos Chicken from their Americanized Chinese food options and I got their Tofu with Vegetables. Mine was quite delicious, though I would have preferred the tofu not to be the deep fried kind. I should have asked if they had brown rice in the side bowl... Oh well, it was still good though everything left me super full.

    Maybe its cause my family knows the owners that the food is super good here. I'm looking at the 3 1/2 stars like these people are crazy. THIER SEAFOOD MEDLEY is BOMB. I swear one of the best seafood spicy combos I have ever had. Like every time I come here I get it. That is how good it is. I let my mother order the food here cause she knows what is good and she is my mother. Mom knows best lol

    Authentic Sichuan Chinese cuisine with a flare. We got the dry pepper chicken, the spicy kidney and the spicy cabbage. All the dishes were amazingly good. The only downside is that the food was a bit spicy. Decors decent and the ambience was good, hence a reasonable choice for any meal whether if it's a quick bite or a date.

    Authentic Chinese. You can tell by the menu and the number of Chinese people eating in there with different dishes than American Chinese food or what the Americans have. I was in a rush and they were accommodating and service was good.

    Dan Dan noodles, shrimp dumpling, scallion pancake. These are all super starters or just eat these. This is a great place and so easy to order more then you can eat. But you will enjoy trying.

    I went to there around 2 or 3 pm in the weekend and they don't have so many waiter there, it is hard to get service sometimes, you have to go to the front desk to ask for the check. But the food is delicious and the environment is better than other resturants in Chinatown.

    This is the best authentic and traditional Chinese restaurant. This is NOT a regular American Chinese place where the spice levels are average. Menu is huge and lot to pick. I have tried only vegetarian and they are the best. Tried out hot and sour soup, Fried rice, Mao po Tofu and noodles, service is good, food comes out fast and hot. If you are a spice lover then you can request for your comfort hot levels. We ordered hot and It was really spicy. We have been here many times and always love the food. Quantity also is good so anything you order will be sufficient for two people. Service: Good and fast Food: Very good with traditional Chinese flavor Ambiance: Good Price: reasonable "I will recommend this place to anybody who loves traditional Chinese food"

    Just enjoyed our first taste of Pin Wei dining. We ordered won ton soup for take out for our family. $10 minimum for credit card--not unusual and not inconvenient with a grocery store next door where I got cash back. The soup wasn't ready when I arrived, which was a surprise, but so was the taste of the soup when I got home--delicious!! It's almost like the broth wasn't sitting all day and the wontons weren't just frozen and thrown into old broth. My wife named that slightly different flavor in the wonton meat: Ginger. Not a lot. Just a hint. Tasty. Thanks for having integrity in the quality of your food, Pin Wei. I will always wait a little longer for something that is better.

    This is definitely the best authentic chinese place in the area. I would definitely go again and get the fish. The Dan Dan Noodles was so good. I had to bring some home with me. I usually can't find any good places serving dan dan noodles around me so this was quite the treat!

    I've been on two occasions with a large group for dinner on the weekend. Service is always top notch as the waiters/waitresses are consistently checking to make sure you have everything you need. A friend in our group lived in the Sichuan region of China for two years and she raves about the authenticity of the food and experience. I have yet to try a dish that I didn't like/appreciate. Some of my favorites include the General Tso chicken, cucumber with scallion oil, shrimp lo mein, and KungPao beef. Obviously these dishes are Americanized Chinese, but I have tried some Sichuan dishes as well- MaPo Tofu and Beef in hot sauce. They were both too spicy for my liking (don't like anything too spicy), but I'm glad I tried them. Every dish is served on a big plate or bowl or pot put in the middle of the table for everyone to pick at and share. This certainly makes for an interesting and fun way to do dinner. I've been two times in the last 6 weeks or so and definitely plan to return sometime soon. Whether indulging in Americanized Chinese or Sichuan specialities, you won't be disappointed!

    Fantastic food. Service is iffy, as we had a language barrier with our waitress. She messed up our order, but was quick to fix the mistake. I think they have the tastiest Lo Mein I've ever eaten

    Mediocre taste with WORST SERVICE EVER!!! The waiter never showed up after she toke our order. No refill of water, no further asking. Worst of all, she even forgot two of the dishes we ordered. After we complained about this, she even claimed that this was not her fault! She said this was chief's mistake!!! Plus, she was peeking at us when we wrote the amount of tips. Such a awful experience! I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE! EVER AGAIN!
